Synopsis

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is a dark and thrilling musical by Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler. It tells the story of a vengeful barber, Sweeney Todd, who returns to London after years of exile, seeking retribution against the corrupt judge who destroyed his life. With the help of the cunning Mrs. Lovett, Todd turns his barber shop into a gruesome enterprise, leading to a chilling tale of revenge, deception, and morality. Founded on an English play from 1847, the musical was originally staged on Broadway in 1979, and won the Tony award for Best Musical.
